Valley Blue Sox 5, Mystic Schooners 6
The Mystic Schooners (6-5) walked off by way of a bases-loaded walk at home against the Valley Blue Sox (8-4) to snap their two-game losing skid. Both pitchers who earned the decision in this contest recorded just the final out in the ninth for each squad, Matthew Bollenbacher (East Tennessee State University) earning the win for the Schooners and Daniel Padysak (Charleston Southern University) taking the loss for the Blue Sox.
Mystic got themselves on the board first in this matchup in the bottom of the first off of an error committed by Valley. The score remained 1-0 in favor of the home team until the fifth inning when the Schooners exploded for four runs to extend their lead over the visitors. Right fielder Barry Walsh (Boston College) led off the bottom of the inning with a solo home run, followed by an RBI single from left fielder Brendan Cumming (Princeton University) and a two-run home run off of the bat of designated hitter Addison Kopack (University of Rhode Island) to cap off the four-run campaign.
The Schooners kept their 5-0 lead until Valley came back with an RBI from right fielder Cristian Tejada (Miami University) in the eighth inning, and then a four-run ninth inning of their own to tie things up heading into the home half of the inning. The Blue Sox scored four in the visitor’s half of the ninth with an RBI single from first baseman Cole Andrews (Miami University), a two-run double by second baseman Travis Holt (High Point University) and an RBI base-hit from shortstop Mason LaPlante (Yale University). However, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth on a 3-2 count, Cumming drew a bases-loaded walk to win the contest for the Schooners.

Keene Swamp Bats 11, Sanford Mainers 8
The visiting Keene Swamp Bats (6-5) extended their winning streak to four games with a victory over the Sanford Mainers (2-8) at Goodall Park on Saturday night. Reliever Dylan Sabia (Central Connecticut State University) was given the win and his second in as many appearances for the Swamp Bats (2.0 innings pitched, 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, 2 strikeouts), while Sanford starting pitcher Garret Keough (Georgetown University) was handed the loss at home (3.1 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 5 K).
Keene scored first in this matchup in the first inning, but Sanford quickly took the lead in the bottom half thanks to a two-run single from second baseman Dominic Freeberger (University of North Carolina Asheville) to make it a 2-1 game after just one inning. The Swamp Bats wasted no time tying things up in the visitor’s half of the second with an RBI base-hit via second baseman David Bryant (Radford University). Nonetheless, first baseman Noah Martinez (Central Connecticut State University) did not allow the tie game to last for long as he launched a grand slam to give Keene a 6-2 advantage after the top half of the fourth.
Two RBI singles from the Mainers’ bats made it a 6-4 contest after four complete innings, but a two-run fifth inning from the Swamp Bats highlighted by a couple of pass balls, walks and wild pitches extended their lead to 8-4 over Sanford. The Mainers got one run back again in the home half of the inning to make it an 8-5 game, a score that would last until the ninth inning when both teams exploded in their respective halves. A pair of home runs on Keene’s side off of the bats of third baseman Zach Bushling (University of Connecticut) and center fielder Michael Nyisztor (Rutgers University) made it an 11-5 game and Sanford attempted a comeback with a similar three-run campaign in their final chance, but it would not be enough to force extra innings.

Winnipesaukee Muskrats 1, Vermont Mountaineers 2
The Vermont Mountaineers (7-4) won their fifth straight game with a win over the visiting Winnipesaukee Muskrats (5-7), handing them their fourth straight loss. Reliever Ryan Steckline (Monmouth University) picked up the win for the ‘Neers and his second of the summer (3.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K), while fellow relief pitcher Trevor Kirk (Elon University) suffered the loss for the ‘Skrats (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R/earned runs, 1 BB, 3 K). Martha’s Vineyard Sharks 3, Bristol Blues 5
The hosting Bristol Blues (3-10) won their second straight game after losing nine consecutive matchups with a win over the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks (7-3) at Muzzy Field on Saturday night. Relief pitcher Jake Moskowitz (Southwestern University) earned the victory for the Blues after suffering two losses in his first two appearances of the season (1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K), and fellow reliever Chase Nowak (East Stroudsburg University) bore the loss for the Sharks (2.1 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 5 K).
The Sharks came out biting in the first inning by scoring a run off of a wild pitch to take an early 1-0 lead over the home team.
